| equipment used on the project: Akai S2000, Theremin, Kurzweil K2500rs, Roland SH-10, Roland U-220, Proteus World, Akai VX-90, Roland JP-8000, Takamine Acoustic Guitar, LP Congas, Japanese Chordal Harmonica, Cakewalk Pro Audio, Sound Forge shadu et al (sea) is the name used for the collection of musicians that have worked with phil hissom to record songs and music. the swimming in the nihil project is the collaborative effort of mike palace and phil hissom and falls in a musical genre somewhere between industrial techno and folk music. the project was completed in august of 1998 and features four musicians and a wide variety of musical instruments. most of the tunes were constructed with phil playing the guitar in mike's ear while he programmed beats in cakewalk (a sequencing software package). once the sequences were complete mike and phil joined dieter von shramm and began recording the tracks in 'back door studio', owned and operated by will rodriguez. after many long and crazy hours, a CD was born. |
